Ryan attacked as extremist who would destroy America

by Lily Pond

Aug. 13, 2012, Washington, DC — Paul Ryan is an extremist whose ideas would destroy America. That's the consensus of Democrats and celebrities who are unified in their criticism of Mitt Romney's running mate.

"Ryan would destroy the modern concept of the American family," said Jess Kidon of the American Gay Marriage Alliance. "Unlike our great leader, Barack Obama, who changed his position in May, Ryan still believes that marriage should be between one man and one woman. That proves Ryan supports hatred of gays and opposes civil rights."

Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons wrote that Romney and Ryan are "two men who will destroy our people and laugh all the way to the bank."

Simmons said Ryan is extreme in his view that minorities should be forced to pay market rates for goods and services with their own money.

"In Paul Ryan's world view," he said, "companies should be able to charge whatever they want, and people would have to work for their needs. He even wants to stop welfare recipients from getting free cell phones."

Woody Branch of the League of Independent Environmental Scientists (LIES) said Ryan would do irreversible damage to the environment by allowing Americans to continue buying electricity produced by coal and to drive automobiles powered by fossil fuels.

"Ryan is one of those extremists who think that just because a single coal-fired generation plant produces more power than all the windmills and solar cells in America that we should continue to rely on coal."

President Obama said Ryan is an extremist who wants to destroy the safety net for America's seniors by "changing Medicare as we know it."

Obama acknowledged that Ryan's proposal would not change Medicare for senior citizens 55 years or older but said he is concerned that restoring $700 billion that he cut from Medicare to fund the Unaffordable Health Care Act could hurt younger Americans who need Obamacare to pay for their birth control pills.

Movie actress Rhea Lee Rich, star of Michael Moore's "Capitalism: A Love Story," said Ryan is so extreme that he would reduce taxes on investors to promote job growth.

"The rich and their multinational corporations say they are investing overseas because all other countries charge a lower tax rate," she said. "I don't believe it. They just don't want to pay their fair share. If they don't want to be patriotic and pay higher taxes, good riddance to them and their jobs."

Dr. Anne Jeinah of American Doctors Helping Democrats (ADHD) said Ryan is so extreme that he wants to repeal Obamacare and return the U.S. to a medical system that allows citizens to choose the type of health insurance they want.

"Everybody knows it was unfair to allow citizens to buy insurance that didn't include the coverage that President Obama deemed proper," Dr. Jeinah said. "Sure, health insurance was cheaper, but the our great leader should choose what is included in an insurance policy, not the people who buy it."

Ryan is particularly extreme when it comes to a woman's right to choose, according to Dr. Sly Semupp of the nonprofit group, Unlimited Doctors and Chiropractors (Unlimited D&C).

"Ryan is such an extremist that he believes citizens should have the choice to vote on whether abortion should be legal in their states," Dr. Semupp said. "Only an extremist would support such a choice. Reasonable people believe the federal government should not allow citizens that choice."

Jazz singer Mosley Flat said he considers Ryan an extremist because he would stop President Obama's efforts to redistribute wealth, destroying the president's vision of a fundamentally changed America.

"Ryan supports a system that allows some citizens to earn and keep more money than others," she said. "That is unconscionable. People who earn more should be compelled to share the excess with those who don't have as much."

Democrat National Committee spokeswoman Lois Price said Ryan is so extreme that he is opposed to keeping the debt limit at the debt limit.

"If Ryan had his way," she said, "America would no longer borrow money from Communist China to give loans to solar cell companies to help them compete with Chinese solar cell companies that are subsidized by the Chinese government. The guy has no clue how things really work in the real world."
